A Birthday Staycation in the Philippines
I don't usually do anything special for my birthday, usually just an intimate dinner. This year, however, Imabelle took me for a staycation in Quezon City, Philippines. We got a suite in Microtel by Wyndham Acroplois and I give you a tour and also show you an amazing buffet called SamboKojin.

Cheap Philippines Hotel Experience & Review
I wanted to get out and do something different for the night so I went to a budget hotel in Quezon City, Philippines. I have stayed at this hotel many times before, just not this particular branch. I had always had a good time there because it has dark rooms with a good air conditioner and I have always just found it to be a good place to sleep. This time, I had a more interesting experience though as you will see in the video.

Be Careful where you get food in the Philippines
Here are some good tips for tourists going to the Philippines. There are no health regulations for markets and restaurants so you should be careful where your food comes from. This video shows how dirty the typical Filipino market is and gives you some alternatives.

Where should you vacation...Thailand or the Philippines?
Thailand and the Philippines are two great tourist destinations and there are many similarities between both countries but a lot of people want to know where they should visit if they only have enough money to do one. I answer that question in this video by making some honest comparisons. This video covers the basics and makes some good generalizations for westerners looking to take a trip to southeast Asia.

Appeared on Umagang Kay Ganda again
This is my 2nd time appearing on the ABS-CBN morning show Umagang Kay Ganda. The first time, they did a story on me, this time I did a funny little bit where I meet a Filipina online and we start dating but the mother wants to break me up. Here is some behind the scenes footage.

Chatting with Pinoy Rockers Raimund Marasigan and Franco Reyes
Raimund Marasigan is a fun guy that has been in several iconic Filipino bands such as Eraserheads, Pedicab, and Sandwich.
Franco Reyes is a cult-like figure and many Pinoy rock fans have been asking me to talk to him in a video for a long time so here it is.

Chatting with Rock Royalty
I happened to be in Calbayog City, Philippines the same time as a major concert featuring some legendary Filipino performers. I decided to interview them because I figured much of my audience would be interested since I have a lot of followers from the Philippines.
I talked to Parokya ni Edgar right before they headed to the concert. I was not too familiar with this group, but I knew they are very popular and I had seen their video "The Ordertaker" so I knew they'd be a lot of fun. I especially had a good time teasing bass guitar player, Buwi Meneses.
After the show, I sat down with Kamikazee. I was familiar with a couple of their songs, and I decided to surprise them by singing one of their hits at the start of the interview. These guys were also a lot of fun and they have a great sense of humor. I was happy to hear that they were familiar with me before we sat down to talk.
I also sat down with Rico Blanco. I had worked with Rico before as an actor, doing scenes with him on ABS-CBN's TV series, Imortal. Since I had a little experience with him, I knew he is a very serious guy so I knew this interview would be a lot different from the others. My goal was to just sit down with him and have a candid discussion and maybe it would give his fans some insight into what makes this artist tick.
Some people that don't know Rico have commented that he seems a bit arrogant or disinterested here, but I assure you that is not the case. Rico is a very serious guy and it would not be fair to expect him to be a comedian like Parokya ni Edgar or Kamikazee. My theory is that he draws on his inner turmoil and uses it as fuel to create his music that moves people so much. I can't read his mind, so I can't say for sure, but this may be one of the reasons he is one of Asia's finest singers and musicians.
I really think he enjoyed doing this interview and chatting with me, even though it was very late at night and I am sure he was tired from his concert. He is truly a class act.

Fought an exhibition boxing match in the Philippines
I have been staying in Calbayog City, Samar and I asked the local boxing coach if I could train with them just to get a good work out. He suggested that I fight an exhibition bout with a local former champion. I wasn't sure that was a good idea, but I did it anyway.
I was very impressed with the size of the crowd at the event and I really had a blast. This was one of the most fun things I have ever done.
Here is a video that shows how it went.
